Melville is the Freight Manager at GMC South Africa and oversees all freight and customs related matters across all modes of transport for both import and export.

Melville has over 25 years’ experience in Freight Forwarding, Customs Clearing, Chartering, and Project Logistics. He holds diplomas in International Forwarding, Customs procedures, and Customs affairs.

During his career, he has gained experience in cargo movement in almost all industries, FMCG, Supply chain management, Motor Industry, live animals, and personal effects.

Concentrating on the Oil and Gas industry for the last ten years. 

In 2012 he moved to Pemba, Mozambique to introduce documentation, administration, warehouse management and accounting procedures for onshore logistics services in the oil and gas sector

Melville has two children, daughter Jamé and son, Michael.

In his off time, Melville enjoys tending to plants, especially orchids, and when he wants to get his hands dirty, he restores and rebuilds old motor car engines.
